Ø 2010 – ON 7TH OCTOBER, THE REMAINING STRETCH OF THE NEWSECTION TO THE SOUTH, 1.58 KMS 
      FROM 
KAVINAZRUL TO KAVISUBHASH WAS COMMISSIONED.

   2010 – ON 29TH DECEMBER, METRO RAILWAY WAS CONFERRED THE STATUS OF A ZONAL RAILWAY.

   2013 - ON 10THJULY, A NEW SECTION FROM DUM DUM TO NOAPARA( 2.091KM) WAS COMMISSIONED.

   2014 – FROM 21ST MAY, DEPARTURE OF FIRST TRAIN (PILOT CUM COMMERCIAL) FROM BOTH ENDS   
      STARTS AT 6:45 HRS IN LIEU OF 7:00 HRS. FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY AND SUNDAY SERVICES (PILOT CUM COMMERCIAL) STARTS FROM 09:50 HRS IN LIEU OF 14:00 HRS.

station features
Metro construction is of a very complex nature requiring application of several new technologies in the fields of civil, electrical, signaling and telecommunication engineering. Indian engineers, backed by their own experience and supplemented by their studies abroad, adopted advanced technologies in the following fields for the first time in India.

s Cut and cover method of construction using diaphragm walls and sheet piles.

s Use of extensive decking to keep the traffic flowing over the cut while construction in progress underneath.

s Shield tunneling using compressed air and airlocks.

s Ballastless track using elastic fastenings, rubber pads, epoxy mortar and nylon inserts.

s Air-conditioning and ventilation system for environmental control of stations and tunnels.

s Third Rail current collection system for traction.

s Underground substations with dry type transformers and SF-6 circuit breakers.

s Tunnel- Train VHF- radio communication system.

s Micro-processor-based train control and supervisory remote control system for substations.

s Automatic ticket vending and checking system.
